Japan Blog 52 (March 8, 2009) Ghost Hunting

凛として時雨 凛として時雨 凛として時雨 凛として時雨!!!
Why am I freaking out about them? kyAA! I'll say later^^
But I think this week has been full of randomness.
For one thing I'm finally getting better at Kyuudou. I figured out what the hell I've been doing wrong all this time, so now my arrows aren't falling short anymore. Thank god. I was getting sick of that.

I made a list for Nozomi of things she needs to do in Hokkaido when she goes. It was full of random stuff from making pancakes with Hokkaido milk to taking a picture next to a cow while doing a strong pose. Writing it all in Japanese was kinda troublesome haha. But it was funny. At least when everyone was reading it they were laughing^^ I think I may be going to Hokkaido eventually, too. I hear about it every so often about how my host dad can take us during a vacation. I don't know much about that though.

Well, I guess I'll start off about Kyuudou. I'm not liking the situation I was just put in. I was told on Wednesday that on the 21st of this month there's a taikai (tournament) in Mito. I knew that. What I didn't know is that I'm PARTICIPATING in the taikai. Asai-san told me. NOOO. That's not good. The taikai is only like not even 2 weeks away and I SUCK compared to all the other people. I kinda understand why Asai-san is doing this for me, so I can experience a taikai and be part of it, but 1) if I'm participating that means one of the other people who usually participates is going to be cut out and 2) I'm going to make our team lose. THIS IS BAD. I hate pressure. I just like Kyuudou for Kyuudou, not a taikai or shiai or any other things. But yeah, I'm going to be in the upcoming taikai. どうしお(>_<)

My school has becoming interesting to me. I have found out 2 things about it. The first thing is that my school ISN'T an all girls' school. Guys are allowed to take the entrance exams. It's just that since the school is only filled with girls, no guys want to come. Wow. That really sucks on my end. Another thing I was told was that my school is practically haunted. Well, sort of. A longggg time ago when my friends were shogakusei (elementray students) there was a suicide in the school bathroom in what is now the ichi-nensei building. The ni and san-nensei building and pretty much new so when it happened all the students were in that other building. It's on the 5th floor. I asked everyone who knew about it what exactly happened but even they don't know the details. They just know there was a suicide. I heard other stories about it, too. Supposedly in the summer at night, when the 5th floor's lights are turned off, outside of the building when you look up you can see the lights flickering. Ikumi told me she saw that happen. Then a girl in my class also had an experience. In the same building she went to the bathroom on the first floor by herself. She saw someone else enter but when she went to see who it was there was no one there. Then I was warned about this other building at school that's creepy at night. But there's no way of entering it at night, it's only open for classes (I think).

Anyway, that ghost stuff interests me. I was told all this at Kyuudou and I wanted to see the bathroom. I asked everyone who wanted to take me to it but no one said they would. They were too scared. I finally got Asami to agree to go with me. Friday after school she took me to the 5th floor. I brought my camera in hopes of finding a ghost. I took a bunch of random pictures of the area but nothing came up. The bathroom though is unfortunately locked up. There's a sign posted on the door that means "Do Not Enter". So I was only able to take pictures in the area. She took me to the first floor bathroom, too, but there was nothing there either. I'm not giving up. I want to find, see something. Well, it just so happens that this Friday is Friday the 13th. And I was surprised that my friends knew about that day, it has the same meaning here. Asami said she'd go with me again on Friday. Yatta! And I'm dragging Pat with me one day after Sadou Club. Only because after that club it's dark outside so maybe the 5th floor... something will happen. She doesn't want to go but we're going. hehe I'm evil. Poor Pat.

Me and Pat started a new thing yesterday. We're now practicing playing the Taiko drum. 知ってる? The Taiko drum is those reallyy big drums that are played at festivals here and you always see these guys wearing a cloth on their foreheads and... let me just show you a picture.

I just found that picture online. Not mine. But yeah. That's the Taiko drum. April 4th and 5th Hitachi has their Sakura Matsuri (Cherry Blossom Festival) on Heiwa street. Heiwa street is FILLED with sakura trees. I have yet to see sakura yet but my bus stop is on Heiwa street so I'll be seeing them everyday when they bloom^^ The street will be really pretty so I'll be snapping pictures. Anyway, there's these people (mostly kids) at the moment practicing for it. Me and Pat are most likely participating so that's why we're going every Saturday and Sunday to practice. It's going to be exciting^^ It really gets your arms tired though that's for sure. Pat's host mom told us about it so that's how we got involved. Today there was a guy from some news station to do an interview and record everyone practicing. Me and Pat were interviewed. Tomorrow morning, I'll be on TV (heh). Cable only though and I don't get cable. Not to mention I'll be in school. Hmm, I wonder if after awhile I can search it on YouTube... But yeah. Actually, there's an arcade game here called Taiko Drum Master, I think I've talked about it before in a wayyyy earlier blog. I heard the game is coming to America if it hasn't already for the PS2 and maybe DS. It's a lot of fun, another reason why I wanted to try out the real thing^^

Today we had our party for the san-nensei at Kyuudou. That was a lot of fun. We played Russian Roulette but with food. Like, the one thing was crackers with blueberry jam in between but there was one that had natto in the middle of that jam. That would be the bullet. Eww, natto. There was another one with sushi. There was sushi but one had chocolate in with it. haha Kesari got that one and she almost threw up. Then we played some drawing game. It involved using the last hiragana of a word then drawing a picture starting with it and so on. We got pizza again but there was no curry pizza this time (;_;) but we all had to bring in snacks and there was soooo much! I ate too much, that's for sure. Starting tomorrow I'm officially staying away from sweets. Diet. Full on diet. Look at all this food!

I cooked on Friday in school^^
I never actually cooked a meal like we did before. We made corn soup, chicken, and coffee jello (it's actually really good). I still screwed up by cutting 2 mushrooms, but haha it's all good.

AND! TO END THE BLOG THE MOST HAPPIEST THING HAPPENED YESTERDAY! 凛として時雨!!!
While I was waiting for Pat to pick me up for the taiko practice I recieved a text from Nozomi:
凛として時雨のライブのチケットが3月9日から発売されるよ
行く?
(Rin Toshite Shigure's live tickets are being sold from March 9th. Go?)

kyAA!! I love you Nozomi! I was freaking out. I said before I wanted to go and since I can't go myself (especally alone in Tokyo) I told her about it since she really likes them, too. It's official now! I'M GOING TO SEE RIN TOSHITE SHIGURE!!!! JUNE 21ST AT ZEPP TOKYO!!! I wasn't sure at that point if I was even allowed to go to see them but when I mentioned it to the grandmother if I could go afterward she went right to the calendar and wrote that I was going. I just asked if I could go and she asked when it was so she could write it down. Just like that I was allowed to go. YES!! If I was with my previous host family it wouldn't have been as easy as that and to tell you the truth I don't think they would have let me go. If I wasn't allowed to go and sleep over Yuki's house in Itako there's NO WAY IN HELL the dad would have let me go to Tokyo with only a friend. That's right, it's only us two going. We're taking the train which will be our most expensive part, but the show itself is considered cheap. Unfortunately though we may have to leave the show early though. It starts at 7 at night and the last train that leaves Tokyo that stops at Hitachi is at 9pm. Not to mention it's a Sunday night haha. School the next day. haha Yeah, considering how late it will be too, there's no way I would have been allowed. Thank god I switched^^
So, me and Nozomi are going! I'm sooo excited for June now^^ It's the last live that they're giving, too, of their "moment A rhythm" tour. That day. Yay! ありがとう のぞみ~♥!!
This is Asako and Nozomi^^ They don't like their picture taken often, always doing something to hide their faces haha.
