Japan Blog 42 (January 5, 2009) one more day (;_;)...

Hey guys.

Well, I'm back from my trip from Hiroshima and Kyoto. I have tons of video and lots of pictures to upload but I'm not going to do that until after I change families. I only have one more night here with this family. And I'm upset about it. Of course. But I also feel a little relieved. Leaving them, I know that I'm not trouble for them anymore (if I was) and that makes me feel better. Sure, I'm going to miss them hells but there's nothing I could do about it. I have to change. I heard that Pat will be with her family for a long time yet. Lucky. But she doesn't even know when she's leaving them so who knows. I do have blogs to post up for Hiroshima and Kyoto, while I was gone I actually took a notebook and I wrote in that so all I have to do is type them up and post them. But I'll do that too after I change families. Sorry you all have to wait but I'm trying to post at least a video on YouTube and I don't have all this time. If I don't sleep by 1 I end up sleeping in till noon and that's not good. Just today I did that and they had to wake me up for lunch.

So, I'll talk about New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Actually, I was put into a position where I had two decisions to make. In the beginning I thought I would have made the wrong one no matter which I chose but in the end, I made a good one. Because the awesomest guy in the world was at the house for a few days. Can you guess?? Taichiro!!! I love him^^ The day he came back I came home superrrr late from club, like 4 hours late. That day we had to clean the dojo. It felt like spring cleaning, seriously. We took the place apart and it was a mess. Not only that but we had to make new mats (the things we shoot at) too. OH! The day before that I made my first hit!! See my default picture?? That's my arrow^^ It was actually the first arrow I shot that day too. Yay me^^ I made 2 hits that day. I haven't been to club since haha. But yeah, after we cleaned we ordered pizza. Wow. Pizza is expensive here. I think I saw the cheapest for like 1,260 yen for a medium. That's like $12.60.  But it was good pizza, that's for sure. Curry pizza exists! I love curry, I love curry pizza^^ So we went to sushi when I got home. I think they were getting upset until they found out why I was so late. Otoo-san called me as soon as walked in the door. Woops.

But I had to choose between celebrating New Years with the Kyuudou club or with my family and I had no idea what they were planning. Kyuudou was having a sleepover at the dojo. When midnight came they were all going to shoot their arrows off. My family? I had no idea but 1) I love everyone in Kyuudou and 2) it sounded like fun. So, I was torn. But in the end I stayed with the family because I foud out eventually that we were going to a shrine (the one by our house. It's the very first video on my YouTube). So, I went there. Actually, it was only me, Tonpi, Taichiro, Koudai, and Koudai's friend that went. Otoo-san and Okaa-san stayed home. But because Taichiro was here it made the entire day great. At the shirne there was a lot of people waiting in line to throw a coin and say their whatever. While we waited we got a drink of some super sweet stuff. When I drank it I felt like I was drink puke only because it was lumpy and all that feeling. But it tasted really good. I tasted strawberry in it but then when I mentioned that to Taichiro and Tonpi they just looked at me weird. Obviously there were no strawberry taste in it. After we did the shrine thing we paid 100 yen for a omikuji. That's a fortune. Well, I got one of the good fortunes but then when you read what it said about my year it was only all bad. If you want your fortune to become better there's a string near the shrine and you tie the paper on it. I did that. Then Taichiro took my camera (I was recording) and he told me to say, "kareshi hoshi" (I want a boyfriend). haha I did and there were these group of girls next to us and they just looked at us.

My family has been warning me before I left for my trip like everytime the subject of leaving was brought up, "be careful of theives in Kyoto. There's a lot of them". My fortune tells me: "watch out for getting robbed". I was like, are you kidding me?? Am I seriously going to get robbed in Kyoto?? Thank god I didn't. Then we read more. Taichiro was reading it for me since I can't read kanji. A person I like or likes me I will not meet, be careful when I don't study (I thought of that as a: I study Japanese so if I don't study things will be harder for me), you will lose something but then you will find it but it won't have any meaning when you do. What kind of year is this going to be?? And I got the middle luck omikuji. My ass I did. We ate udon after that. Then I was given all this sake. Taichiro's like, "now you have to drink because you're sad now". haha, yeah. But it was Koudai that filled a cup of it. Tonpi's telling me "no" when he asked me if I wanted a refill. Before New Years came my family had another BBQ thing. We ate soba and udon and tempura. And all these people came. I was talking to this one guy who said he backpacked through America and Europe and he was like praising America for how nice the people were. This was like 43 years ago though. I hate when people praise America. I let it just go through my ear though. We rented Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni, the anime, and only one DVD. Since Taichiro has seen it and we both kept talking about it, Tonpi then wanted to see it so we rented it. For those whove seen the series it was the DVD where Shion kills Rika, Satoko, Keichi, the old man, and the grandma. haha Pat was with us too and I was surprised when Tonpi said it was "interesting" and not scary. 'Cause that has to be the scarest out of series.  Ai wasn't with us the enire night. Her and her friends went to karaoke for New Years. How cool is that? When midnight strikes you're at karaoke. She didn't come home till like 4am and she had to work at like 4pm. She was dead tired haha. But Taichiro is the best. He's sooo friendly, he talked to me all the time, the one night he came in my room and we listened to his band's live performace CD, we watched Gintama in my room (that is the strangest series I've ever seen. Watch ep. 83), he's just awesome. I have video of New Years and of him playing his guitar. Like I said, I have tons of video to post up.

Mochi is ALWAYS eaten for New Years. It's a tradition, I don't know why. New Years Eve I went to where my Okaa-san's sister lives and we all made mochi. That's difficult to make. I have to make a video of that yet. On New Years we had a meal with Obaa-chan and Ojii-chan at their house. There's special food that you eat on New Years Day with mochi and you buy these boxes at the store. Half the food in it I didn't like. I didn't even know what they were. Obaa-chan gave us all 2,000 yen and then me, Tonpi, and Taichiro went to the mall 'cause I had to buy gloves. We went to the arcade, me and Tonpi played this music game that involved plucking hair off a person's chin, then we did Purikura. I'll upload those tomorrow. 2 of them are reallyyy funny. When I came back Taichiro and Koudai were gone. Bt I have a heater in my room^^ When Taichiro came in my room he one day he brought in a heater and it's still here^^

And that was my New Year. The next day I left for Hiroshima. Those blogs and pictures will be up in a few days, look forward to it^^ Ai just sent me mail saying I'm going to karaoke tomorrow with her, Yuko, Sayaka, and Saori. Heh. I'm happy, and excited. I end my day with Ai and then to a tedon restaurant at night. My last night as a Fukaya. Depressing.
