Japan Blog 40 (December 25, 2008) a heater!! bonzai!!

I have a heater in my room!!!!
This is the greatest thing EVER. I am now not suffering from frozen fingers when I type these blogs ^_^ So, that is the reason for celebration^^

Right now it's Christmas morning. It's practically almost 2 am. What do I plan on doing this Christmas? Well, I have Kyuudou in a few hours. I was debating on skipping it only because these past 2 days I realized how much I love sleeping in. And we didn't have club those days. Then I know I'll be eating Christmas cake sometime during the day. Ai won't be home practically all day, going somewhere with Takuya. I won't get home 'til around 2, maybe later if I decide to go to Akane's house (if they're still planning on doing that) but I'm low on cash (just paid my phone bill) and I have to take the train to get to her house. And this, is Christmas. That's my day.

But it's still early (seriously).
Other things may happen yet. Lets talk about the past three days. I got my heater on Monday. I was doing something here on the computer after school, Otoo-san asks if I'm cold, a yes as always, I get a heater. Rejoice! Now I'm not bundled in clothing. Sheesh, he could have gave it to me sooner though. Monday was the final day of school before Fuyu Yasumi (winter vacation). We had to pratically clean everything of the classroom because it was yasumi. I had to clean the windows with Ikumi, Kasumi, and someone else (who else helped us??) and we NEVER clean the windows. New video on YouTube of a little cleaning. Reallyyy short. Sorry. Another time I'll get regular cleaning shots. That day me, Pat, and Nora had to go to the elementary school to eat lunch with the principal. Now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever mentioned this. A few weeks ago was the last day that the 3 of us went to the elementary school for a few 10 min. days of teaching little English to 1st and 2nd graders. We sang a "Hello Song", "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes", some "Numbers" song, etc., etc. We did this once a week for like 6 weeks. So, this "Christmas" dinner was like a thank you. The food wasn't special. I would have preferred my awesome tasting bento (;_;) but it's the thought.

Had an assembly, Ikumi and some other members of the Kyuudou Club got trophies for receiving 3rd place at that competion in Mito. And the weather was HORRIBLE that day. The wind was amazingly strong, the rain was terrible, I hated it. I had to stop using the umbrella because 1. the wind tried to pull it out of my hand AND made it go inside out and 2. you had to worry about your skirt. You couldn't function holding an umbrella and attempting to keep your skirt down. I even thought if you made your skirt shorter it would be less floppy (since the sweater covered the a good amount too) but no. Didn't help. Thank god Ayami saved me. Her mom came to pick her up and they asked if I wanted a ride. ARIGATOU!!! I had a Rotary dinner that day, too. We played Karada, ate food (the last dinner's food was better), auctioned off presents each for 1,000 yen. There was a statue of a cow as one of them (who gave them these gifts??). No one wanted it so they added it to another thing as a 1,000 yen auction.

January 2nd,3rd,and 4th me, Pat, and the Brazilian boy are going to...-drum roll- KYOTO!!! anddd another place. Two reasons to be happy about this second place. Reason number 1: It is the place were A~chan, Nocchi, and Kashiyuka (the members of Perfume, of course!!) were born. Oh yeah! Kashiyuka's birthday was on the 23rd. Anyway, Perfume fans out there, if you DO NOT know where they were born, you make me mad. Reason number 2 is already a given once I say the name. Hiroshima. Not sure how I'm going to respond to that, actually. Just talking about going to other Japanese (I mentioned it at Rotary and to my friends) I felt guilty, like I had to apologize even though I know I don't need to. So, that'll be something. Especially when I go to the atomic bomb museum. Going to Kyoto and Hiroshima is a Rotary thing so that's why it's only us 3 that's going (along with Otoo-san). Which is another sad thing. Practically 4 days away from my family. I leave them on the 6th, so I'm not to thrilled about going away when I'm leaving them 2 days later. Rotary gave me 20,000 yen for this trip too as spending money. Damnnn. Then I got my monthly 10,000 yen an the president's wife gave me 2,000 yen.

The next day I got Tonpi her birthday gift. Some Wii game (in America it's known as Animal Crossings). If you come to Japan, seriously, don't bother on a credit card. Unless you're going to like Tokyo or somewhere famous (actually, don't even risk that 'cause who knows if it'll work). Thank god I was given that money Monday or else she wouldn't have it. I hate my credit card now. Since I know for a fact it works in Bulldog, before I leave I'm debating on just buying that ginormous Kapibara stuffed animal that's around 5,000 yen. This thing is HUGE and soft^^ and I love it. But I have no other use for the damn card so why the hell not? (I most likely won't do it anyway. How would I get it home...).

Then today we celebrated with a Christmas/Happy Birthday Tonpi dinner at Obaa-chan's. Food was good as always. I love food here. But I pretty much slept today too. I fell asleep under the kontatsu, Ai left for work (I didn't even know), Koudai got ready to go somewhere during that time (yeah, Koudai has been here for a few days now, why I'm unsure), and it was actually Koudai's friend who woke me up. I wish I remembered his name. But... heh. He seemed very interested in hooking up. Like, he even said we should go somewhere, he was flirting, that's certain. I started forgetting my Japanese, struggling to get my words out NOT in English. He rubbed my cheek and omg just sooo much. He plans on mailing me (so he says, we'll see what happens) but I really don't think anything will happen. Koudai will bring it up if anything. But this was the type I've been looking for. He spikes his hair a bit, not shy, damn. What luck. And seriously, I've met more people here that smoke than I have back in school in America and Japan is one of the countries with the fewest smokers (it's a fact). How weird.

I got my Christmas gift from Tonpi on Tuesday. She got me a small blacket that I eventually planned on buying for school (it's freezing in school) so I was happy. Otoo-san bought Tonpi a goldfish for her birthday. Ai dyed her hair on Monday, too. Tonpi joined her. Well, Ai's hair is definitely noticeably brown, Tonpi's you can only tell in the sunlight. I really think Ai's was better black. I didn't even think about asking her if she likes it but if I ask now it might seem like I don't like it. Oh well. I finally saw the Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni live action movie for all the Higurashi fans out there (I rented it^^). My opinion: the anime was much more scarier and I really didn't like all the effects they added to the movie. It just made it seem more fake than it should have. And I'm off for sleep. Merry Christmas!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1Lo1bftLPs
