Japan Blog 47 (Feburary 1, 2009) tabun taiteru nai

It's just cool when you feel like you seriously belong here. When you ride the bus constantly (not just to and from school), when you walk the streets blasting Rin Toshite Shigure in your ears, hanging out at club with such awesome people, laughing with them just like you would back in America, talking about random things or just sharing music. It just feels so cool. That's what I thought about when I was walking to the bus stop today after club. If I didn't join Kyuudou and kept to that saying of  "I don't do everyday clubs" I would be seriously bored out of my mind and would have been missing out on such great people. I can't possibly keep going about how great of a decision joining Kyuudou was. You're all probably getting tired of hearing that, too. So, I'll stop after today. I'm sure the message is pretty clear now.

But even other things that I haven't mentioned. Riding my bike, meeting friends at Yokado, going to karaoke, taking the train by yourself, wearing such awesome clothing, talking the language, acting like all the people around me (and I don't mean I'm copying them), I'm really feeling Japanese. Not that I've haven't for sometime now. I mean Mizuki told me I'm just like one now. Hah, if only my language skills were better. Not that they're terrible.

Let's say this though.
Japanese buffet resturants are A LOT different than American ones. Even the Chinese buffets in America don't compare. It was my first time at one yesterday. There is a GRILL on all the tables. You go to the buffet, grab tons of raw beef, pork, etc., then you cook it! How freaking cool is that?? I like the sushi bar though haha. But there wasn't that much of a variety. So I was supposed to go to the Kyuudou taikai (tournament) in Mito yesterday but I couldn't because of Nora leaving. I asked how it was and they said the train stopped for 3 hours because of the wind and rain. No fair! I could have been on that train! I would have just liked to say that I got stranded on a train in Japan for 3 hours. And besides, with everyone on that train I'm sure those 3 hours were pretty amusing. Then today I was going to go snowboarding with Pat, Nozomi (Pat's host sister), Pedro, and that Rotary dude that took us to Hiroshima and Kyoto (speaking of Kyoto I haven't posted that blog yet...). But in the end I didn't go. I can't really go off spending my money right now. It would have been super expensive since I'd have to take the train to Mito (around 1,000 yen to and from) then for the renting, and I wasn't sure if we were taking a bus yet since it was a far away place. Oh well. I have to by tons of chocolate yet and bags for them. Valentine's Day is soon. Gotta make A LOT A LOT of chocolate. Have too many friends haha. I really wonder if it'll be okay. I can't cook to save my life. Misa will have to fix my mistakes haha. Then another thing about cooking. At the Rotary meeting like 2 weeks ago the one guy asked if I could come over his house one day so me and his wife can cook an apple pie since American apple pie is different. -mouth wide in shock-
I DON'T KNOW HOW TO COOK AN APPLE PIE.
I tried to explain this but he just said his wife will help. Oh god. Cooking. Apple pie. Not good. But that's even if we do this. Chances are it won't even happen. I found out yesterday that the Rotary in Japan is aganist the whole getting a boyfriend/girlfriend thing. Yukino (the girl in America now, who's family I'm living with now) there's a guy that likes her and both the grandma and the dad are like aganist it. That's when I asked and the dad said the Rotary is aganist it. I told him the America Rotary is fine with it so she's okay. But that made my thoughts drop. Well, if it ever happens for me, they'll never know haha^^

That's another thing. Me and Nozomi (friend from Kyuudou not Pat's host sister) I was telling her about the whole thing how I wanted one. She, why I can't understand, likes foreginers better. Uck. There's only a few good foreginers out there (no offence). It's really weird though how we seriously have a lot in common. Same with me and Misa. We both partically love and hate the sme foods. Me and Nozomi are alike with music tastes (I'm really curious about her clothing style, what type of clothing she's into. Nani kana...). But yeah. And I'm really starting to suck at Kyuudou now. I was getting better at a point and then I just started getting terrible. I only made 1 hit out of like 20 some today. NOT GOOD.

Well, Misa wants to go to the bookstore with me so I'm gunna head out. It's really weird. Like, Tonpi is only one year younger than Misa but yet Misa seems like 2-3 years older than her. Maybe going into junior high does that to you. Whatever. Oh, and KFC exists here. I ate it today.

And for those people who took my advice and checked out 9mm Parabellum Bullet I'm telling you now to check out Rin Toshite Shigure. If you look them up you may find them under the name of  Ling Tosite Sigure. But it's the same people. I just found their album last night (yatta!!^^) and I love them even more. Nozomi loves them. She was borowing my ipod during lunch to listen to them. But they are awesomeeeee and amazinggggg. You will love them too^^
And it's amazing how many English speaking Japanese screamo bands there are. I was just looking some new bands up and found a hells lots. Like Nature Living for example. Great group as well. Of course though, all the bands' English is pretty terrible but it's still English nonetheless.
