Japan Blog 49 (Feburary 14, 2009) Rin Toshite Shigure♥ is music

I felt like typing a blog up, so here it is.

So, it's after midnight. It's Valentine's Day. I just wish I knew some guys. It sucks, right? Eh, not really I guess. I kinda don't care anymore, not that I haven't given up. I have a little more than 6 months left. If anything happens, it happens. But I definitely have to meet some befre White Day comes up. I won't let that holiday exist if I don't know any guys haha. Oh, here in Japan Valentine's Day is when the girls give the guys stuff. White Day is the other way around. That's not until March though. What day though kana... I was going to make chocolate. But I made 2 mistakes this month. 1) wasting 3,000 yen on Krispy Kreme donuts, and 2) practically wasting almost 2,000 yen at Sega on those stupid UFO catchers. Sega is an arcade here in Namekawa but it's just mostly filled with the UFO catchers. I officially hate those money stealing things. So, that's why I'm most likely not now. I'm broke. Only 1,500 yen left in my walet and Monday I'm going out with Yuka after school to do who knows what yet. But purikura has already been decided between us. 200 yen, byebye^^

So, has anyone listened to me about Rin Toshite Shigure??
When I downloaded their Inspiration is DEAD album that day I couldn't stop listening to it. Well, I know this site that's FILLED with Japanese albums that you can download. I can't even count all the albums they have available for download. Before I found the album somewhere else I requested on the site (they take requests^^) that they should get Rin Toshite Shigure's music. 3 days ago I went back on the site and they uploaded it! But not just Inspiration is DEAD, they uploaded ALL their albums! This site is like my new best friend^^ So, I downloaded all those albums and I am so freaking amazed at how great this band is. Be prepared, I'm going to rant on about this band now. Skip the paragraph if you want^^

凛として時雨 (if your computer doesn't support Japanese what I typed is going to look like a bunch of ?? or other random things. Go update your computer.) seriously is one of the greatest bands out there. I downloaded all the albums the site gave me, "Telecastic Fake Show", "#4", Feeling Your UFO", and the new single "moment A rhythm". I overplayed "Inspiration is DEAD" when I had it so now I don't listen to it as much. But I love the #4 album. Feeling Your UFO I'll admit isn't as great as the others. The songs (there's only 5 on the album) just don't catch me as much. As for the newest single, "moment A rhythm" the first time I heard it I was turned off. Not only because of the fact that the song is 16 minutes long, but also because it seemed to have no tempo, nothing moving it along.  Two days ago we went driving to see the full moon, I had 凛として時雨 playing in my ears and then that 16 minute song came on and I figured I'd give it another try. WOW. The song actually has a great tempo and it was just... beautiful. I have never heard such great music before. And many people may complain that they can't sing because they sing wayyy too high that their voices crack and such, but that's their style and that's what makes it soo god damn great. All this band's music is amazing. I can't stop listening to them. I went on their site to check out their touring. I'm going. They have a bunch during the next months in Tokyo. By train, to get to Tokyo it's around 2,950 yen from Hitachi. The tickets to see them around around 3,500 yen. I'm going to make it a priority to go. Sorry Perfume and An Cafe, but these guys are just too much for words. I'll see if Nozomi wants to go with me. And to all you lazy people who didn't feel like searching their music up! Kiite! I have a imeem playlist on my profile now (give it time to load since it's kinda slow if you don't see it) and it's ONLY filled with Rin Toshite Shigure and Perfume music (and 3 songs from Big Bang). Go listen to it. Their music is really beautiful. Yes. I think it's beautiful.

Okay, so we went driving around yesterday just to see some moon. We drove to the top of this mountain and we couldn't see it but then when we drove down there it was. It was red. And we almost took a stray cat home^^

Testing. Loads of fun. I actually studied for one, an English one 2 days ago because Pat was and then she told me there was a part where we had to write the Japanese word from the English given. Now, if we didn't answer that it wouldn't have mattered, but I felt competitive because it would look bad on me if she did it and not me, and Pat was doing it. So, we both studied it like crazy right before the test. Wow, that brings high school memories back haha. I haven't rush-studied like that in a long time. At the end of the test I thought I got them all right (yatta!) but when I went to restudy them when I got home I realized I made the littlest mistakes, but those "little" mistakes change the whole meaning of the word. -sigh- Whatever. They're technically right. And I came to the conclusion that my class is learning British English, because that test yesterday I didn't understand how to answer some of the questions. It sounded so funny to me. Like, "Hadn't been you I would not have done that" or something like that. I was like, "whaaa?". Yeah. None of the possible answers made sense to me. Just because American's never say weird sentences like that.

And I think I need my bangs cut again. My hair is growing awfully fast. People are telling me anymore that my hair became longer (not my bangs in general). I must have heard that a gazillion times. But my bangs are pissing me off again. So I decided to do something different. Clips. I bought this pack of 5 different colored clips (2 of each color) and now I wear 2 clips on the side of my bangs. The first day I wore them I was told it was cute (yes!) and Mizuki noticed today when I changed it to pink instead of green again, poking my head. I need color on me, those normal bobby pins are dull. So, that's my new style for the time being. I'll figure out a new bang style for my next hair cut, maybe in a month or so.

And I've been studying my ass off. I told myself, "all your friends are studying like crazy for these exams. If you want to be more like a Japanese high school student you should be, too." But since I understand nothing I'm just studying Japanese like crazy. And it's actually sticking to me! And oddly enough so is the kanji. It's scaring me haha. But it's thanks to Rin Toshite Shigure and Big Bang. Listening to them is really getting me through it. Oh! No one knows of Big Bang do you??!! Well, they are Korean. And they are one of the Korean groups that I like^^ That site also has a few Korean albums posted as well and I downloaded their "Remember" album. It's awesome^^ Hey Korean fans out there! I have a few friends here who like Korean as well and the one gave me a language book^^ AND! In April there's an exchange student from Korea coming to my school! Me and Pat are sooo excited to meet her. Pat is really into the whole Korean thing too and she's teaching me fashion of it as well and because of her I've been getting more into Korea as well. Here's a Korean fashion fact: wearing glasses without any lens is cool. Pat wears them and I must say, it IS cool.
