Then you know it's bad when you're not even here a week and you broke something. This is why this blog hasn't been posted till now and why it's so long since I missed how many days. -sigh- I'm such an idiot.
It all starts with Saturday. Good 'ol Saturday. I had my breakfast, watched a little TV, was bored so I decided to go on the computer. While I was on I think a relative came to visit and had the cutest little boy. He was screaming and running around the house [at least that's what it sounded like] but I wasn't out there with them because I was talking to people [Cheryl, I feel like blaming this on you haha]. Then one of Ai's friends came over. Her name was Saori [it was pronounced something like that]. I was still talking to people so I wasn't around with them either. See, when I'm online instead of around the house my blogs become un-interesting. That will all change. Now.
Then it was time for lunch. That's when I tripped. I got out of my chair, my foot snagged on the internet cord, and I tripped. Okay, so I fell, big deal. It wasn't until I came back that I saw my damage. I ripped the cable [this is what I'm blaming you for Cheryl haha]. Picture below.
This is very bad. After all the trouble they went through to get me the internet I went and broke it. How stupid can I be? I went apologizing and okaa-san just kept saying "daijyobu, daijyobu" [it's okay, it's okay] and that otoo-san would fix it but daijyobu ja nai [it's not okay]. I still feel terrible. Urgh, like I haven't enough already. I mean, is that even fixable? I don't think it is. Uhhnnn... baka, baka, baka! [stupid, stupid, stupid]
I decided to sulk after that and began to read Breaking Dawn [the new Stephanie Meyer book of the Twilight series for all of you who don't know it]. I know~ I should have finished reading it by now but I'm lazy. After a few minutes of that Ai, Tompi, and Saori asked if I wanted to go for a walk. Of course I went and I found out we were doing to a okashi [snack] store. The store was super small but it had a huge selection of weird candies and snacks. The store also sold Gundam kits. I found a Code Geass one there haha [actually Ai pointed it out to me]. There was soooo many gundams it was insane. Even Evangelion figures were there.
But anyway, the snacks. I had no idea what anything was so I just asked them what was good. I got some kind of chocolate that was cookie inside, that was absolutely amazing~~ I believe it was called Big Thunder. Sorry I don't have any pictures. Look up the names if you wanna know what they look like. Another thing I got was called Big Katsu. I have no idea what the hell that was and I'm afraid to find out. I can't possibly imagine what fish it could have been. I got one of those squeezey drinks [if you've seen FLCL it was like one of the drink Nota drank all the time] except this was candy. It was gummy, the drink. Quite strange, I didn't like how it was gummy at all. Then I got this other thing. It was bizarre. It came with chopsticks and a tube of goo. You had to put this goo on the chopsticks and with the chopsticks you had to spin it. I have no idea what that was supposed to do 'cause the spinning made no difference to the goo. Then you ate it. It was good but I just didn't understand it. Then I got this squid on a stick. No, it didn't look like a squid. It looked like beef jerky but it was squid. That was... odd. The last thing I got was yogurt gum. Unfortunately I didn't get to try it though 'cause when I came home it became wet somehow and I was told not to eat it. I was excited to try that too :( In the end, I think I much rather prefer Japanese cooked food and not the candy haha.
I got to see Saori play the piano, she's really good. I think she may be the best of the three. And we played Mario Party again. But that's really all that happened today. Otoo-san said he'd fix the wire Monday. -sigh- I'm such an idiot. Only a week here and I'm causing trouble :(
Sunday was pretty exciting.
I was told I was going to a dragnet. What is a dragnet, I had no idea either. Well, actually I was told I was going fishing, THEN I was told it was a dragnet. But before I figured out what the hell a dragnet was I was getting all excited to go on a boat and fish. That sure as hell isn't what a dragnet is. A dragnet is when 2 boats have each side of a huge gigantic net. Then they stretch this net throughout the water/ocean then drive back to shore. There's ropes, freaking log ropes, that return with the boats and with those ropes you have to pull the net to shore. It was dirty. I helped pulling this rope and my hands were gross, not to mention I got some wet sand on my clothes ;_; But it was actually tons of fun. So many people helped in pulling this damn net in. I have video. In the end though, the net didn't catch any fish. I was there waiting and waiting ready to shoot my camera at a mass of fish but I'm waiting and waiting... Where's the fish? It only caught like 20 tiny little fish. We then started on our way home. My family sees a problem with the fact that I have no shorter pants or shorts. I don't but I realize I need them too. It's wayyy too hot here. I underestimated the weather. So since my jeans were soaked they took me to a mall. An amazinggg~~ mall. Now, this mall, unlike the last, did have walls separating the stores. I wonder why the other didn't... But anyway they took me there. We went to the pet shop first. At that moment in time I didn't know the real reason why we came. All I knew was that Tompi loved the pet store. Then they went shopping to buy me capris. I didn't have my money so they bought it and I just wore them when bought. I swear, even when we don't have plans to stop to shop I need to bring my wallet. Japanese people are ridicules haha. I'm very grateful and even though okaa-san insisted I didn't pay her for it I still did when we got home.
But while at the mall we got lunch and bought food for supper. For lunch I tried premade tempura and ohmigosh it was GREAT. For supper we were going to have a BBQ. It was a lot of fun ^_^ But I had to eat fish. Fish that was not skinned. Body and all. It was scary. After it was cooked I saw the fish's eye shrink and it sorta rolled to the back of it's head. I poked it with a chopstick. Asking Tompi, "tabekata?" [how do I eat this?], was funny but I seriously had no idea. When I was shown it actually tasted good. I didn't care for the skin though. And you can't even imagine how many different things the Japanese can make out of squid. It's incredible. I had squid chips last night. They were like potato chips but they weren't and they were squid. I think they were one of the best things I've tried here so far. We also had squid at the BBQ but I didn't like that. Too chewy. I was afraid if I swallowed it I would have choked. The guy and some lady that were friends of the grandparents were with us for a bit. I found out that they were Hawaiian. The guy played his ukulele and the lady taught me how to hula dance. I felt sooo awkward. Then me and Tompi played badminton a bit. And I keep forgetting to mention that my host family has a dog. They have a Shiba and her name is Yuzu. She's sooo cute ^_^ I didn't get to take a picture of her yet. I'll get on that soon enough. Bath, then went to bed early. I had school the next day. I also went to a fish market that day after the mall. It smelled terrible >_< And I felt bad for the fish still alive... Before the BBQ Tompi was trying to teach me kanji. Hah. Kanji. That stuff is hard. I got to ride a bike through a cemetery though -shruggs-
Today, Monday, September 1st.
School. How wonderful. Today I took the bus to school. Oh my god. That bus. Have you ever stood in a moving vehicle? Every time the thing stopped I thought I was gunna fly forward or backwards! Not to mention I had 3 heavy bags on me. It was the worse. Thank god eventually people got off and I then had a seat. Two other girls from my school were with me helping figure things out, I was happy I wasn't alone. I'm not sure if they were my sempai [older students] or I think is it called ryokai? [if that's the right word they're younger students]. All I knew was that their shoes were yellow. My school has three different colors. Red, blue, and yellow. I'm almost positive red is the younger students, I could be wrong. Only the indoor shoes for the classrooms and their gym bags are different colors. I'm blue. And so I started school. I take my seat and go through my classes. And I thought I only had four classes again, that's wrong. It was only an exception Friday. I actually have six. The classes I had today were, Japanese [so confusing], Japan History [I didn't even have a textbook], English [yay English! But we didn't do anything! -pout-], Biology [I slept like three times during that], Math [well it was supposed to be math but it was switched to Health for today for some reason], and then a homeroom-like class. During that we discussed what our class was going to do for the school festival. Yay! I'm actually going to experence a Japanese School Festival! For all of you who don't know what that is it's a festival that the school does I think for three days at most. Each class in the school has to come up with an activity that they do. They can range from food stands to haunted houses, etc. My class is doing a takoyaki stand. I think we're going yellow. All I was getting out of the outfit was T-shirt and yellow skirt. Anyway, our school festival is coming up soon. How exciting!
School ended. I made plans to visit the Badminton Club tomorrow after school in hopes of joining. Two girls in my class who are in it are taking me. I wonder what other clubs there are too...? I wanna join as many as I can ^_^ I took the bus home with my okaa-san and Tompi, I'm guessing they wanted to show me how it worked in case the two girls I was with weren't going to be with me. They were anyway haha. But before I was dropped off a whole group of guys in the same uniform came on at a stop. I found it. The all boys school must be nearby. Well, I never actually found it. I'm just saying it exists. When I got home I saw my cable was fixed! Yay! I have internet now! But it looks like he went out and bought a new plug for it. You know that clear piece that plugs into the computer? It looks completely brand new. Oh geeze. He bought a new one for me. I'm such a pain for this family :(
I was all excited for supper. I've been very excited for supper anymore. I guess since it's always different and new. I used to be excited for asagohan [breakfast] but now that's too predictable and I'm actually starting to miss American breakfasts. Breakfasts here are too big for me. I miss just a bowl of cereal or half a bagel :( Something small please!! Then I only get excited for hirogohan [lunch] when it's the weekends. Even though my bentos for school taste great, it's not exciting to eat them. So all I have now is bangohan [supper]. It smelled like okaa-san was making tempura. Oh my god it smelled awesome! I go to the kitchen to eat... no tempura. It was fried squid. Did I mention how many things the Japanese make out of squid? [joke intended, of course I said that]. Well, I had to eat it. It tasted better than last night that's for sure. Then there was something else. First they told me it was veggies and egg mixed together. I tried it, liked it, ate more, then tell me another thing that's in it. Last night that guy with the hawaiian guitar thing, he caught these fish called loaches. The poor things. I didn't think "I" was going to be eating them! They were still alive last night :( I didn't like that food anymore but I told them oishii already so I couldn't become all in disgust then. And did you know you can eat bamboo? Well, you cook it first but I sure didn't know that. I didn't like it haha.
Ooh, and I saw Zero 4! The new game from the Zero series coming for the Wii! Zero is the Japanese name for the series, in America it's known as Fatal Frame. I have Fatal Frame 2 and LOVE it. But this new one looks superrr scary!
Badminton Club tomorrow! I'm excited ^_^ My class had exams tomorrow too so me and Pat were told to stay in the library all day. -sigh- What a bore it will be. And video 3 is up! And okayyy, here's me wearing my school uniform. I hate how my bangs looks. You wouldn't believe the humidity here! Screws my hair up everyday >_
