Hello world ^^
I'm in Japan now. wow. Japan.
I woke up today and was like "this has to be a dream". It really does seem so surreal to me but it's amazingggg.
My
host parents are really nice but Japanese is super HARD. When they ask
me questions like kinda simple stuff I'm perfectly fine. When they talk
with each other, I'm in a blur haha. I need to study more for sure. My
host okaa-san [mom] has a English book and one of those mini computer
things that translate Japanese to English and the other way around. She
tries to say things to me in English which at times can be very helpful.
The airplane here was terrible and I officially hate airplane food. Not
that it was bad or anything... but it made me sick :[ I think when I
come home I'm gunna ask the lady for no food when they serve. Lets see,
Hitachi is 4 hours away by car from Tokyo. The car ride here seemed to
take forever but it was well worth it of course. When we got to Hitachi
they took me to a restaurant called the "Brass Monkey". I barely ate what
I ordered [because of that stupid airplane food >_ and I felt bad. It was good though. The rice here is different from the rice I ate at the Chinese restaurants back in America. It's, how should I say it, more soft? I don't know. But the said thing is I don't have any internet connection in my house.
NONE.
I'm on Microsoft word typing this up now haha. I wonder when I'll be able to post it...?
It's
my first morning here and I didn't eat breakfast yet. I think they said
they'd wake me up at 8 or 8:30. But I will say on the car ride to
Hitachi I was super happy at a point. Why? I heard Perfume on the
radio!! It was sooo exciting to me haha. I told my sisters before they
played that I loved them and when they heard it on the radio they turned
it up for me haha ^^ I was happy. It was the song Polyrythem, by the
way.
I'm pissed at iTunes right now though :/
Since
I don't have internet access it won't let me transfer my purchased
songs. Now, most of my songs aren't purchased but I do have a few and
most of them are of one of my FAVORITE groups. capsule. I now have
hardly any capsule songs to listen to -cries-
I need to find a access point SOMEWHERE.
Oh!
I didn't talk about Japanese baths! haha OMG they are sooo weird but
awesome at the same time. First you wash yourself outside of the tub on
this mat thing and then you rinse off using this shower. It's the same
as America's except the shower isn't in the wall. It's connected to a
hose so you can move it around. After you're done with that there's a
tub filled with water. You then go and lay in this tub for as long as
you want really. It's for relaxation. When you're done with that you use
the shower again to rise off and ta-da! you're done. haha my host
otoo-san [dad] was saying that these are my Japanese challenges haha.
he's like "this your Japanese bath challenge" [he said it in English]
and at dinner he said "this your Japanese eating challenge" when he
slide over a plate of some kind of raw fish. I have no idea what it was
but I'm sooo not used to eating raw fish haha. It was good though.
Last
night while we drove by I saw a glimpse of my school. Ai pointed it it
out to me. Ai is my one host sister and the same age as me. It looks
HUGE. It was dark out but still. Gosh it's a bit nerve racking. While
unpacking I heard my host sisters say "kawaii fuku" [cute clothes] so
ha! Bianca. I do have style here haha.
Oh and one more
thing before I end this. I saw the squat toilets... and I was scared.
I'm staring at it at a public restroom we stopped at and was scared.
Luckly my family understood I wouldn't like it so they found me a NORMAL
toilet in one of the stalls. haha I'll have to take a picture of one of
those next time I get to a public restroom... oh no. I hope my school
toilets aren't like that too. Kowai... [scary]
haha well, I think I did enough blogging haha. I wonder how long it'll take for me to post this...
I
hope to make my video blog soon. Ya know, take you around a tour of
Hitachi? Well, at least some of it before I get lost haha. Ja ne!
